Relationships are some of the hardest things in this world to understand. A great way of simplifying them, communication.

COMMUNICATION is especially important when your personalities are really different, but if you love that special person, chances are the similarities out weigh the differences.

Sometimes all we need to do is let our significant other know what we're thinking and feeling and this blog is a representation of our thoughts and feelings for each other.

What to expect:
Interesting 'Real life' occurances
sappy, sometimes emotional
conflict/differing views
and lots of LOVE

The beginning…

J’s Version

I met Q at a sorority party that some of my sorority sisters where throwing. He was a fraternity brother to a friend of mine. Didn’t think that years later I would be his girlfriend, at all :) Its funny how whats meant to be will be.

Although I had seen him before I had never really been introduced to him. Finally I found out his name was Quacy. I had never met a guy with the name Quacy ever before. That is when I knew he was very different, very special. We spoke very briefly and I invited him to an after party. He didn’t go but I sure did. Not thinking to much about it we kept on running into each other at social and academic events. Then a text turned into a call, a call turned into a date, a date turned into a friendship and a friendship turned into a relationship.

He is the complete opposite of me. Opposites attract but its our underlying fact that its our similarities that keep us together.

My point of view: Even though you come from different walks of life If you want something to happen you make it happen not just in a relationship, but a friendship as well and you have the opportunity to grow and be challenged. In the end its just you and him and nothing else matters.

Q’s Version

Joce’s story checks out. I remember it quite vividly, because we almost did not meet at all that night.

It was only a few months after crossing into my fraternity, when I was first able to catch a glance of my baby.

I had been staying at my very close fraternity brother’s home in concord, with him and the rest of his immediate family. Not only that, it was my first summer being Greek and along with making fraternal extensions to my immediate family, I saw myself making more and more lifelong friendships.

Then came one summer night where it was time to make some more friends at a party Bryan and I were invited to. Being a SUPER neo, I was juiced. This was the second party, I was about to attend, that was hosted by her sorority and still we hadn’t yet met.

Bryan and I left his dad’s house that night at around 10pm, we never did understand how some people could be among the first at a party- unless there was food involved of course. It took us about 45mins to get there, even though the gps suggested the travel time to be 1hr and 15mins. I’m under the impression that Bryan’s driving and about 4 red-lights that looked green to him might of helped. Our efforts seemed to be futile because 5 mins after getting there, the party was broken up by Stanford’s campus police; or a campus rent-a-cop. Despite being majorly disappointed by this, one thing about that 5 mins caught my interest for most of that night. It was being introduced to this 5’2 tall, honey eyed sorority woman, who had a petite but vixen like frame. Unfortunately, the Q-man was not given the time to work his magic. No number, no email, not twitter handle, address or social security number was given, all she left me with was a spark of interest that night.

Almost a year after initially meeting, our paths crossed yet another time.

I had been lucky enough to start this new year out in Trinidad and was reminded of this luck three weeks after, because Jocelyn and a few of her sisters just happened to be at another one of my brother’s social gathering. Being reminded of how brief an introduction we had before, I set out to make a lasting impression on her that night. And I did :). That night I walked her back to her car and hoped for a kiss, but settled for her cellphone number, with the promise of getting together for lunch/dinner another time.

From there our relationship started to develop, slowly but surely and it continues to develop each and everyday.

We have extremely different personalities, but like she mentioned, our similarities keep us together, and keep our relationship strong. Jocelyn is one of my best friends, and it is because we are able to communicate honestly as friends, that we are able to make every second of every minute of every hour we spend together, our happiest. I love her this much: i love you this much
